Museo de la Erotica, Barcelona, Spain
Opened in 1996, the Museo de la Erotica was founded
by Danish businessman Morten Sondergaard, who studied the other
erotic museums in Europe before embarking on his own version.
The museum concentrates mainly on pre 20th century
ethnic erotic art, with a wide variety of items from Asia, India
and Africa.
It also showcases painting and photography from
the 20th century, with a wide variety of artwork donated by the
artists in question.
Collection Highlights
Works by Picasso and Miro, Indian tantric sculptures
and Kama Sutra art, Chinese, Japanese and African erotic artifacts,
various modern artworks such as digital art by Alice Egoyan, giant
Sandalwood phallic amulet, erotic chair, Peruvian Huacos.
